COURSE DESCRIPTION:
8 Lecture Hours/16 Hands On Hours
A three day, 24 hour CE course designed to train Massage Therapists to work with clients undergoing cancer treatments or with cancer histories in order to develop a safe & effective practice. Education materials, research studies & common treatments will be discussed alongside appropriate hands-on techniques and safety adjustments. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion upon course conclusion.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Melissa Claire Nelson began practicing message therapy in 2007. She worked in a variety of settings in the Temple Terrace/Tampa, FL area before relocating to Atlanta, GA and pursuing advanced training in Oncology Massage. Ms. Nelson has since accrued over 2000 clinical hours in Oncology Massage, providing safe and effective massage to medically frail individuals under the care of Radiation Oncologists. Ms. Nelson trains and mentors massage therapists for cancer and radiation centers nationwide through her work in Clinical Operations for AMB Wellness Solutions, LLC. She believes strongly in the healing power of touch and enjoys working with as many massage therapists as possible to spread that common goal. Ms. Nelson utilizes various modalities including Oncology, Swedish, Therapeutic Touch, Reflexology, and Polarity Therapies when training therapists to work with medically frail individuals. Her passion, good humor, and enthusiasm set the tone for the classroom.
